Hosea 1: Jezreel, Lo-Ruhamah, Lo-Ammi, And The Reversal Of Judgment

Section 2 of 12

Section 02

The Setting

Hosea speaks in the period near the decline of the kingdom system. The northern
kingdom is facing Assyrian pressure, and the prophetic word comes into a divided
house already living with the fruit of earlier choices.

Hosea's name itself carries a deliverance/freedom meaning. That matters because
the chapter is not only about judgment. It is judgment moving toward
deliverance.
